Adam has over a decade of experience of working in senior leadership positions at not-for-for profit organisations. Before joining Charisma, Adam was Director of Development for Sailors’ Society, Chief Executive of The Source Young People’s Charity and Minister of Surbiton New Life Baptist Church. In these roles Adam has rapidly assessed the business needs, developed organisational strategy and introduced robust income generation streams across multiple disciplines, including traditional fundraising methods, charity retail and social enterprise models.  Alongside his role at Charisma, Adam is a trustee of Whitchurch Baptist Church and can also be found on his bike, walking the dog or on the latest caravan adventure with his young family.

Sandra has worked as a recruitment specialist for the past 20 years, and gained vital experience in all aspects of search and selection. Sandra originally joined Charisma in 2014 for two years before spending five years recruiting in the care sector, building relationships with families and the local community to raise awareness of the care home as well as recruiting staff.  Sandra has developed an in-depth understanding of the needs of the care sector, and takes great pleasure from helping clients and candidates fulfil their goals and enjoys the different challenges each new assignment brings. Sandra has now joined Charisma again to recruit for senior level roles within the charity and care sectors.  In her spare time Sandra is an active member of her village community, assisting in events and activities. Sandra enjoys keeping fit by running and walking her dog and has climbed most of the mountains in England, Scotland and Wales. Sandra also practices yoga and loves spending time with her grandchildren.

Katherine has been working in senior positions for the past eight years, in both the not-for-profit and commercial sectors. Before joining Charisma, Katherine was the Development Manager for The Guildhall Trust, an arts charity dedicated to engaging young people in music. She was previously a Tour Manager for an international travel company specialising in heritage educational tours and is the former Area Sales Manager for the UK’s largest, independent art gallery group.  In all of these roles, people have been at the core. From clients and stakeholders to employees, Katherine has been at the heart of the organisation addressing their business needs, and introducing new strategies to diversify income streams, through fundraising, retail and event development.  In her spare time, Katherine enjoys antiquing, visiting historic houses, pretending to be a wine expert and spending time with her husband and cat.

With previous experience in marketing, office administration and recruitment, Lou has supported many charities both personally and professionally. She was formerly a Marketing Manager for a disability charity, and in her commercial experience had specific responsibility for CSR partnerships with charities, raising money and providing volunteering assignments.  Passionate about the third sector, Lou has supported Homeless, Children, Military and Health/Disability organisations. Lou has been involved in all aspects of recruitment throughout her career, she has worked in partnership with hiring managers and clients both as a recruiter and a client.  Married with two adult sons Lou is an active member of Rock Choir, an avid reader of all genres, regularly socialising with her Book Club (they even manage to read the odd book!) and at other times she can be found pottering around her garden, cooking or spending time with friends.

Jasmine manages the Charisma Talent Team, researching and searching for potential candidates through executive search and database analysis.  She has held a variety of HR and recruitment positions in the past, across both private and public sector organisations in the UK and Australia.   In her spare time, Jasmine enjoys cooking, reading, and travelling. She supports Unicef, Save the Children and the Cystic Fibrosis charity.

​Nick has over 15 years of experience of working in the charity sector. Before joining Charisma, Nick was Charity Development Executive at fundraising platform Work for Good, Development Officer at Communicare in Southampton, Assistant Pastor at Southampton Vineyard Church, and Centre Manager of the Southampton Christians Against Poverty centre.  Nick also spent a few years in recruitment as part of a private sector company. In these roles Nick has helped organisations recruit, increase their income streams, and develop strategies for each organisation to grow and expand. One of Nick’s proudest achievements is co-ordinating the set-up of community bakery Communibakes – communibakes.co.uk  Nick has recently passed his CIPD level 5 in Human Resources Management. Nick is often on the search for new music with a growing collection of records. He is a coffee fanatic, believing that life is too short for poor quality coffee. Nick is a family man with two children, he absolutely loves taking them on daytrips and introducing them to films and games that he loved at their age.

Yet here we are, with companies still putting “competitive salary” in job descriptions *sigh*.We also offer pro-bono CV and cover letter support to members of Black on Board, an initiative set up in response to De Montford University research that found less than 1% of boardrooms across the UK had any Black or Minority Ethnicity (BME) representation. We focus on the skills and experience that are essential for the role, instead of reverting to yardsticks of privilege, like degrees.
